day 4 of our trip to cairmgorms and monadliath mnts. the evening before, justyna and stephen joined us, and they were so keen on going skiing that they decided to go to cairngorm that day and were accompanied by beata, who just discovered that she actually LOVES skiing even more than she remembered. i had enough after my tuesday cairngorm day and went for a wee walk to carn na fhreiceadain from kingussie. first part of my way up was just following a long road along the golf course, then thru the forest until i reached pitmain lodge with a passing place (bridge) over the river. few minutes later i was in an open moorland. the road i followed was nice and visible, no problem i thought. just when i said that a huge snowy cloud appeared and actually covered everything, with some really unpleasant snow showers. luckily that did last only about 20 mins and later on all the clouds were blown away by strong wind. the day was cold but sunny and i had some great views to the hills around - also to a'chailleach and am bodach which we climbed the previous day. as i approached the summit, the road started dissapearing and reappearing, the snow was deep and difficult to walk. summit of carn na fhreiceadain was one hell of a windy place, freezing cold, i just took a picture and decided to descent a little to hide a bit lower where the wind wasn't so strong. that made me walk thru high heather bushes (again) and i lost a lot of time at that point, struggling thru it. beinn bhreac is marked by 2 cairns, one just before the summit (one large piece of rock), then smaller cairn at the top. the wind didn't ease therefore i lost not a single minute and started descent. unfortunately at that point the snow was so deep that i could hardly see where the road was and i took wrong direction, to the next cairn (tall, skiny one at the end of the ridge). fortunately i realised just in time to find a right road to come back home, just before it got dark.
